Triggers are obstacles in our environment that can cause our subconscious to override our rational thinking. When you make the decision not to gamble, your subconscious wins if you let the triggers get to you.

Once a compulsive gambler makes a conscious decision to stop gambling, he should be proud of himself. They must sit down, breathe deeply, and make plans for their future.

As the compulsive gambler goes about his daily routines, he may receive a call from a friend asking him to go to the gambling establishment. This is the only question that can take a compulsive gambler back in time. The compulsive gambler must try to focus on the reasons why he stopped gambling. At this point, he should pick up the phone and tell his friend that he doesn’t play games anymore, needs to take a break, or isn’t in the mood. How you deal with it is up to you. It is always best to be frank and honest if you want your recovery to be expedited.

Situations that will try to have your subconscious above all your rational thinking. Facing these triggers will prepare you for future events.

There are different types of triggers that will affect each person differently depending on the game they play.

Once a compulsive gambler stops gambling, his mind seems clearer for more to be noticed. You can pass a billboard every day on the way to work. Not once did you realize what was written on it. Now that you stop gambling, you realize more. It is a casino advertisement. This is another trigger. You can focus and go your way. I know of people who have turned their car around and gone gambling. These are the obstacles you face on a daily basis.
